Peace march in Pune

A peace march was organised today, 5th December 2008, to pay tribute and respect to all the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai.
I think more than 500 people participated but we could've done better. I mean, hello, Pune's a city with lakhs of people. Atleast 10 percent could have turned up. Whatever! The feeling's supposed to come from inside.
The whole thing was pretty well organised and peaceful except for the slogan shouting. But the slogans too added to the spirit.
Talking about spirit of the people, I was touched to see the old and the young walking side by side. Some had come with their toddlers in tow. Wow! This is the spirit of the people that holds a nation together. Kudos to them!

The march started from Symbi college and ended at the University. Amby and I were just two heads in the long line that snaked through traffic and roads holding placards and candles in hand. Thankfully this time I wasn't just a mere spectator. I felt really proud, of the people who came, of myself, of the people who still care enough to do this and above all of the people for whom this was done.
Thank you! It's a simple word but it's straight from my heart.
Jai Hind!
